The annual Sweat versus Steam Fun Run is the YMCA Greater Murray's major fundraiser, with all money raised being donated to the Echuca & District Youth Services Fund, auspiced and run by the YMCA Greater Murray.

The fund assists in planning and organising youth initiatives in the Greater Murray region of southern New South Wales and northern Victoria. The Sweat Vs Steam is considered to be the one regional fun run not to be missed. Why? Some say the tracks are the best you'll find, others say it's the scenery and because you have a real chance of beating old Adelaide. We think its the friendliness of Echuca, the free breakfast and the beautiful weather.

The run is a unique experience and walkers are encouraged to participate.

Though runners need to complete the 13KM run against PS Adelaide to be able to claim
they have challenged the Adelaide, all competitors irrespective of race category can obtain a commemorative certificate showing they have competed in the Sweat Vs
Steam against the PS Adelaide.

5KM runners compete against the PS Pevensey giving every member of the family a
chance to compete in this unique footrace along Murray River tracks. With the new course, many runners say it's a cross-country event, so come along and try it for yourself!

Non-participants can enjoy both the thrill of the run and the scenery of the river by actually being aboard the PS Pevensey to watch the race on a special breakfast cruise.
